HSSE

At ODC the Safety is always First !

Overview

We aim to have zero fatalities and to prevent incidents. We are working to ensure compliance with our safety procedures and tackling the cultural issues that can lead to unsafe behavior. We have a very good record of achieving 100% compliance with – and where practical - exceeding our legal duties through an effective Health Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) management system.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment are always our number one priorities.

The key success achieved by implementing the HSSE management system includes zero accidents, drastic reduction of risks associated with routine and special tasks, cleaner environment and ultimately providing comfort to our employees and clients.

Every member of our workforce—as well as our clients and subcontractors have stop-work authority - if they see an unsafe act or an unsafe condition that could result in an incident or an injury. We encourage everyone to take notice of safety problems whenever they see them, and intervene. We reinforce this philosophy through a combination of technical field procedures, ongoing training, and a risk management program that highlights activities that could be life-threatening when not executed according to published procedures.

ODC is certified OHSAS 18001:2007 for Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management System.

All the systems are well established, documented, implemented and maintained.

All personnel responsible for conducting risk assessments are fully trained in the Risk Control process, and undertake all generic and specific risk assessments so all activities are safely and efficiently controlled throughout the shipyard. ODC employees are committed to incorporate health and safety considerations into their daily activities.

Health & Safety, above all, requires everyone to be engaged and everyone responsible for openness and transparency. Each individual is important to us. Improvement based on facts and risks, proactive individual involvement, personal responsibility, accountability, and continuous improvement are expected from all employees and subcontractors.

We believe that all accidents are preventable. Our goal is zero accidents. Active participation at all levels will ensure that our goal can be achieved.
